I found a 2014 Mercedes-Benz 350 E Series and a Volvo Wagon that I wanted to test drive, both in great condition for a fair price at North End Motors. When I arrived for my appointment in Canton, MA, Mr. George Guzman was like an antidote in a sea of snakes. He is what my family likes to call "a real human being." George Guzman clearly prides himself on integrity, cultural competence, and knowledge of his field, and it shows in his work. He is an well-informed, thoughtful person with whom I shared content-rich conversation during the test drives. He was not agressive in his sales tactics and allowed me to forumlate my own opinion about the two vehicles I was considering, but he was also able to answer every onenof my questions. I appreciated his understated expertise. It was also a relief to know that North End Motors subscribes to fair pricing so I didn't have to haggle. No contest-- the Benz won! After the sale was finalized, I had to travel overseas unexpectedly for more than three weeks. Without hesitation, George assured me that he would personally keep watch on my new car. And he did! Although my anticipted return date changed several times, George was never irritated, begrudging, or harsh when I called to ask for "just a few more days." I offered to pay a parking fee for the unanticipated time my new Mercedes took up space on the lot, but he firmly refused. During my absence, George called me two or three times per week to check on us and to ask if he could help with anything. Said he just wanted to take care of me and make sure I had everything I needed (even though I'm sure they wanted that car gone already!). His manager, Mario, also called me a few times to check in. I reported to him how impressed I was with his staff, and he humbly agreed that they are incredible. I felt like everyone at North End Motors actually cared about me, each other, & my new car. If I had not been sold on the Mercedes-Benz wagon right away, I would have looked for another vehicle to purchase at North End Motors. Mike in Finance was also wonderful. He explained everything to me at each step of the process and went above & beyond to get me the best deal that he could. George Guzman and Mike take great pride in their work, and it's clear that folks at North End Motors make it a point to treat their employees well. You can tell when people love their job and feel respected by their employers, and when space is allocated for their needs. That kind of environment cannot be fabricated. Those are the kind of people I chose to form a long term relationship with. Because of the people at North End Motors, I will return there for regular service, even though it's a bit of a hike for me. It's more than buying a car. North End Motors is a very special place that could serve as an exemplar for businesses who are trying to create a family-like establishment.
